The royal flush is the best hand in poker and it cannot be beaten. It is simply the highest possible straight flush. There are only four, one per suit.
Two players can never hold different royal flushes in Hold'em, because they would need ten cards of two suits. If the royal flush is on the board, every remaining player shares the pot.
Beats: Every other hand.
Questions players ask
- How rare is a royal flush in Texas Hold'em?
- Using all seven cards, you make a royal flush about once in every 30,940 hands. At 30 hands an hour, that is roughly one every 1,000 hours of live play.
- Does a royal flush in spades beat one in hearts?
- No. Suits are all equal in Texas Hold'em. Identical hands split the pot.
