Raise
To increase the size of the current bet, forcing others to put in more to continue.
In no-limit games a raise must be at least as large as the previous bet or raise. If someone bets $10, the minimum raise is to $20.
Raising gives you two ways to win: everyone folds now, or you take a bigger pot to showdown. That is why aggressive play usually beats passive play.
